Jordan-Aerial (Jordi) Butt
Support Coordinator Assistant, Enrolled Nurse
Losing her best friend to suicide at the age of 13 unknowingly set Jordi on the path to make an impact in the sector of mental health.
Jordi's ability to make people feel seen and heard is so deeply ingrained in her character that she considers it her industry superpower to respect diverse personalities and provide flexible support to clients as per their requirements.
Jordi’s devotion to helping people led to her study in nursing, gaining her diploma of Nursing in 2019 and then continuing on to her Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
Working at Harmony Social Services has ignited in Jordi a passion for travel, having accompanied and supported a participant to Bosnia in 2022. Taking this trip opened her eyes to the incredible support services available within Australia, saying “we are so blessed to have such support from our Government to really help those in need of mental health support”.
Having witnessed this gap in government assistance abroad, Jordi has her sights set on turning the tables in third world countries who have far less support and assistance.
The devastation of losing another friend to suicide in 2020 has given Jordi the life motto “Turn your pain into your passion”.
This fiercely dedicated young woman is committed to making sure people from all walks of life across the globe, not just in privileged first world countries, have access to feel supported and connected. No-one should feel alone or in the position that ending their life is their only option.
Removing the stigma that mental health support is a weakness might be a tough job, but Jordi believes, to her core, that we are here on this earth with other people for a reason, we aren’t meant to go through things alone.
